Sugarloaf Craft Festivals, one of the nation’s most renowned and popular juried shows of fine art and craft, is now accepting applications from artists and craftspeople in all media for its Spring 2012 shows. Exhibition space is available at every show in all categories, including fiber and fashion, photography, fine art, furniture, ceramics and pottery, blown and leaded glass, jewelry, metal, leather, and functional and decorative wood. Now in its 36th year, Sugarloaf Craft Festivals offer artists and craftspeople an unparalleled opportunity to sell their work to eager buyers. In the past year, attendance at Sugarloaf’s 13 shows increased by11% over the previous year – at some shows by as much as 35%. Artist sales increased 7% of the previous year, with artists selling over $15.6 million in handmade items to more than 178,000 visitors. Sugarloaf Craft Festivals provide significant support for its artists including an aggressive marketing and advertising program, an easy on-line application process, the Sugarloaf “Caravan” transporting artists’ product and booths between shows, free VIP tickets for artists to distribute to their best customers, and discounts for artists at hotels convenient to each show venue. Artists can receive discounts on booth fees through a number of flexible payment options. Craft buyers know Sugarloaf and seek out the shows. Sugarloaf’s Facebook page has a record-setting 20,000 People Who Like, and the weekly Club newsletter is sent to more than 40,000 subscribers. In 2010, 10 of Sugarloaf’s 13 shows were ranked in the Top 200 nationally by Sunshine Artist magazine. Craft industry publications regularly rank the Sugarloaf Craft Festivals among the top fine arts and crafts festivals in the country. Jury selected artists whose work is exhibited at Sugarloaf shows are represented in the nation’s finest galleries, private collections, and museums. Sugarloaf Crafts Festivals offers a number of ways for artists to apply to its shows. From Scranton/Wilkes Barre/ Allentown,PA: Take I-476 S (formerly PA Rt 9) to I-78 East. Take I-287 S to Exit 10 onto Easton Ave toward New Brunswick/South Bound Brook. (On exit ramp, make your very first left onto Easton Ave, northbound, toward South Bound Brook). Turn left onto Davidson Ave. Continue on Davidson for 1/2 mile.
